November 11 (11/11) Papero Days is celebrated. This day the boys and young girls exchange Papero cookies. These are cookies in the shape of a stick, hence the date is said because the 11/11 are sticks. They come in different flavors, but the most common one that is given for this day is chocolate. It is said that the idea was of several young people from Busan for the year 1994. Others say that it was an advertising strategy of Lotte (conglomerate distributor of cookies). The good thing about this date is that it is not only given to the groom but also to the people you want as friends, teachers, mothers and fathers etc.
